Review: After Earth (2013) (4) M. Night Shiamalans big-budget vanity project father and son team and Jaden Smith turns out to be much worse than the trailer. In the film, the father and son crash land on planet earth for a thousand years after people were forced to leave. Daddys with broken legs, a child has to go to a spooky landscape to an item that will allow them to reach their world. Under the country without a doubt one of the worst SF summer hits ever made. Part of the blame can go to the director but those haters cant put everything on it. Incredibly bad scenario also deserves a lot of blame, but it's Smith boys. It seems to say, after each of his films, but it's clear young Jaden has yet to take acting classes and getting passes because of his father. Im sorry, but he just is not got a talented bone in his body and it really cant any emotion, which is what the story is here called type. The fact that he can not act to save his life, actually kills every emotion that the film goes to the scene and turns it into something quite fun. Mr. Will Smith does not fall into any better. While I prefer more quiet, laid back style, it just does not work, the script is just sitting talking to a child. When deserves a lot of the fault is to have your son that role, he can not do, and ultimately make it one of the funniest actors in Hollywood history type. The first few films he did was just uncomfortable, but no one gave him a word, that he can not act, and apparently no one has seen fit to get it in the classroom, so they are really only getting worse. However, Shiamalan not improved as a film but theres really No drama, suspense, and tension. It does not help that the script is totally cliche? moment is also 100% predictable. I will say that some of the pictures is good, but certainly not enough to sit through this thing.
