Review: Another reason to thank the independent filmmaker. After seeing the prisoner I felt I needed an antidote to the poison. Here's a great film that proves beyond doubt that great drama of ordinary working class people. It also shows that our film culture still survives horror of mass-audience films. Losing Mr. Gandolfini is very sad. His acting style, his true personality, his warmth and his total lack of fake acting missing. Imagine a person loved, even though he is a murderous thug (The Sopranos) gives an idea of ââhis true talent. The film is also sometimes hatred for divorced people and men and women. But in a super-intelligent way, these issues seep into reality and the honest truth. The author is a genius as evidenced by other films I've seen from her. Finally, Hollywood has more women in the industry behind the camera and as writers and directors. (Duh!) All my hatred of prisoners cleansed of this beautiful sensitive film.
